As you probably know, France has legalised poker since the end of June 2010 and everyone was expecting a huge market able to make important benefit but unfortunately the dream is not going so well and they have to face to too many competitor and big shark such as poker star or Winamax.

The market represent $600 million of turnover $200 million for the horses races, $250 for the poker and $200 million for the bet sport but the taxes are quite important and it is difficult to make any benefices in this market. Even of the ARJEL tries to regulate the market, French players keep playing on the illegal online poker website and this one represent between 30 and 40% of the market.

The ARJEL has already asked to 50 casinos to stop their activities on the French territory and most of them stopped their activities but it is still a lot which won’t stop and won’t accept the rules of the French government.
